Jerome's Appliances.

Jerome's Appliances is a regional appliance retailer that was running the business on a legacy ERP. We moved them onto Odoo, migrated the records the company runs on, trained the team, and ran the go-live.

What we turned on.

The brief

Get off the legacy ERP without losing the history.

The hard part of replacing an ERP is rarely the new system. It is everything already sitting in the old one.

Jerome's had customers, suppliers, products, inventory, accounting records and years of transaction history in a legacy ERP, and all of it had to land in Odoo intact before anyone could stop using the old system.

What we did

Migrated the business, then ran the go-live.

We migrated customers, suppliers, products, inventory, accounting records and historical transactions from the legacy ERP into Odoo.

Then we trained the team on the system they were about to use every day, and ran the go-live.

How we run a migration

Master records first, then the balances.

Migrations go in stages. First the records everything else hangs off: customers, vendors, products. Each one goes in with an external ID, a permanent reference tying the Odoo record back to the row it came from, so a bad import gets re-run and corrected instead of creating a second copy of everything.

Then the balances and history you actually need. Open invoices, stock on hand, open purchase orders. We agree how far back to go first, because most businesses do not need ten years of closed transactions in a new system.

Every stage gets checked against the source before the next one starts. Record counts, stock quantities, AR and AP totals all have to match what you had. Your current system keeps running until they do.

Nothing left behind.

A migration is finished when the numbers in the new system match the numbers in the old one, and the people using it know where everything went. That is the bar every stage gets checked against.
