Setup starts on the Referral Configuration. HR defines the point values for each stage in the recruitment pipeline (a referral submitted earns one number, an interview earns another, a hire earns the most), the levels employees can reach as they accumulate points (5 levels ship seeded, named 1 through 5 with point thresholds, all renameable and editable), and the rewards available at each level (an extra day off, a gift card, a charitable donation, a company-branded item). HR also names the referral friend characters that appear in the gamified UI to make the experience feel less corporate.
From there, the day-to-day work is on the employee side. An employee opens the referral dashboard, sees open jobs filtered to their network's likely interests, and clicks Share on the role they want to refer. The system generates a unique tracked link (or a pre-filled email or LinkedIn message) tied to that employee. When a referred candidate applies through the link, the application lands in Odoo Recruitment with the referring employee tagged automatically; the referrer earns the configured points and the application shows on their dashboard.
As the referred candidate moves through the recruitment pipeline (applied, interviewed, offered, hired), the referrer earns more points at each stage. When the candidate is hired, the referrer earns the full reward and can redeem it from the rewards menu. The whole flow stays gamified on the employee side and reporting-friendly on the HR side: HR sees which employees refer most, which jobs get the most referrals, and which referral sources produce the best hires.
